Service Description

Feel free to join any time every Friday morning and join an online group of 'makers' working with clay. What make our practice different from other ceramics courses is approaching the material going primal and be open to discover, together with clay, the potential of simplicity. Through these sessions, you will learn sophisticated and neat ways of working with clay just using your hands and simple wooden tools. Our learning process is mainly focus on the practice of hand modelling more than the accomplish of final products. This is why it becomes essential the awareness on the present moment and the exercise of synchronising both hands working at the same time. In every meeting, I'm guiding and looking close at everybody's individual process of building and rhythms. My extended experience with hand modelling gives me ability to recognise and understand clay’s behaviour and respond with personal guidelines to share and enjoy the practice of shaping clay. The 12 weeks plan is good length for beginners and for people who wants to obtain strong foundations in the language of clay. During this time, you will be working on different sizes and shapes on a set of cups, bowls, jars and finally a teapot. The quantity depends on shapes and personal rhythms of working. After finish the 12 weeks, you will feel ready and confident to explore bigger and more complex shapes. The 4 weeks plan, is good for people that wants to try out and see how the practice goes. It is also good for people which already have experience with clay or/and want to know very well how to hand model clay. Costs: €155,0 12 weeks plan. It include 5 kilos of clay plus delivery inside Amsterdam and 2 hand modelling wooden tools. €84,0 4 weeks plan. It include 2,5 kilos of clay plus delivery inside Amsterdam and 2 hand modelling wooden tools. Firing service: (See more in 'firing, clay and glazes') €8,0 per kilo, High temperature. €12,0 per Kilo, High temperature with transparent (shiny or mate) glaze. It is applied only to the interior parts of the figure. Cancellation Policy

If you are not able to attend a class, you can reschedule one session for every four sessions you take. These sessions can be taken after finish the plan. For 12 weeks BASIC SHAPES is possible to reschedule 3 days. For 4 weeks BASIC SHAPES is possible to reschedule 1 day.
